Katie was born and raised in Montana and graduated from Montana State University in 2008 with a degree in Sociology. She worked in long-term care providing services to geriatric and disabled populations prior to returning to school for her graduate degree. Katie received her Masters of Social Work in Clinical Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University in 2017. She practiced Medical Social Work, outpatient therapy, focusing on children, adolescents and families, and Multisystemic Therapy in New Mexico under LMSW license. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2020. Katie moved back home to Montana in 2020 and continued work in outpatient therapy working with individuals across the lifespan with a focus on family systems approach. She utilized Applied Family Systems and drew from MST training to work with families and individuals. She became a Clinical Supervisor in 2021 and has been supervising both pre-grad interns and licensure candidates in the State of Montana. Katie trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in 2021. She incorporates DBT, MST, and neurobiology concepts into her work with clients experiencing complex trauma.
